Hunt the Night is an action-packed adventure game that blends retro-style gameplay with dark fantasy lore. Players assume the role of Vesper, a member of a group called 'The Stalkers,' as they explore the vast world of Medhram, filled with ruins and horrors. The game is set in the 9th Age of humanity, where the cycle of day is ruled by humans, while the night is ruled by terrifying creatures that have annihilated humanity every time they appear.

Despite their best efforts, humanity was powerless against the Night until The Stalkers discovered how to use the power of darkness to their advantage. However, even their efforts were not enough, and every new dawn saw humanity rise again, knowing that darkness would always bring extinction. Humanity eventually found the 'Seal of Night,' an artifact that allowed them to stop the cycle in an everlasting day in exchange for a blood oath that The Stalkers were willing to pay. However, fate proved unstoppable, and they paid the ultimate price.

Now, as the Night once again starts devouring every single glint of light, Vesper, a Stalker by right and daughter of a traitor, must travel a dying land to save the last embers of humanity. She hunts in a race against destiny as the shadows lengthen, both in the world and in her mind.

The game features fast-paced dynamic combat, where players can dash through enemies, unleash combos, use weapons, and destroy enemies with dark powers. Players can switch between melee and ranged attacks in quick succession, allowing them to slash enemies with swords and then dash away to use ranged weapons to avoid enemy attacks.

In addition to combat, players will face intense challenging bosses, endure the ultimate challenge as they fight ancient horrors of the Night that have been annihilating humanity repeatedly. Players will also have the opportunity to upgrade and customize Vesper's build, creating a build that adapts to their preferred gameplay and specific bosses. The game features various upgrades for players to choose from, including Critical Damage, Life Steal, Poison, Close Combat, Firepower, and more. Players can also collect Sanguine vials, Crow Feathers, Moonstones, and Noctilium to increase their stats and prepare to face the Night.

Players will explore the dark world of Medhram, a combination of action-adventure and dark fantasy lore. They will survive huge dungeons full of traps, enemies, puzzles, and challenges while discovering all kinds of locations, from ancient cathedrals and libraries of knowledge to lost kingdoms and devastated floating cities.

As a member of The Stalkers, players can accept a hunt at 'Crow's Nest' and track down the dark beast, find where it hides, and hunt the most powerful creatures of the Night. After completing each hunt, players will receive rewards that will increase their health and dark energy bar.

Players will also meet new characters and discover their tragic past and stories in a world that is on the brink of the abyss. The game features immersive and adapted music to every moment, boss, and location, with the collaboration of Hiroki Kikuta, the composer of Secret of Mana.
